Yeah! We have entered a knew milestone, 3! Let the fun begin...
Ah, yes, that smirky-smile I know all too well, that she inherited from me. It is funny how much they learn in just 3 years...in fact, she has all my facial expressions down pat!
The birthday party went well...No huge cake disasters (although the night before, oh around midnight, my tired and tormented-self, yelling and screaming -- why! why do I do this every year? why?...and almost through the whole thing out the window...icing cake is not fun!) but for not being a professional baker...It seemed to be a hit.
And my entertainment seemed to go well. As you can see all the blondes had front row seats! The kids were a little shy at first, but then they realized, "Hey, this guy is nuts...and funny" so they joined in too! By the way, if you ever have a puppeteer bring out an animal that isn't potty-trained, duck, just trust me and duck. I think he may have traumatized some of the youngsters going through potty training..."Mommy, the baby raccoon go pee pee on me. It yucky!"
And...Jelly finally got her Cinderella dress that she has been wanting for months.
It was a fun weekend. It is hard to believe that my baby girl is growing up so fast. Happy Birthday sweetie!

Celebrate good times!
Wait? can you hear that? That my friends is the celebration of Parenting Tales turning 1! That is right, I have made it a full year...and what a year it has been. We started off with Recall after Recall after Recall after Recall on I think every stinking toy I own (ok, maybe a little bit of an exaggeration)...but they are all (but one) made in China -- so it has been a little crazy this past year. So crazy, we learned that it is not safe to drink hand sanitizer! Whew, good thing we reported that one!
Then we embarked on the whole potty-training adventure, which well, Jelly bean's teachers say she is now 85% ready (only 85%?!). And then we learned that Jelly is a toddler who is 100% Sassy going on 16 but how many times can a parent yell,"God grant me the sanity to get through this one."?
And what is a parenting site without some 80' s flashbacks? Like when we paid tribute to Michael Jackson by dancing like Thriller, well, we pretended anyways...I know I still owe you all that video! But I couldn't give you the video without first going through my identity crisis, but whew...it feels so good to be me!
Even Tobee the fat cat got his spotlight on the blog (who Jelly and Tobee both have an "understanding" of each other.) And then we shared some sad moments...from the loss of my only grandfather from a short battle with cancer to our sweet angel baby.
This past year was exceptional and full of many fond memories. Parenting tales has been an experience that has helped me grow, not only as a person, but as a writer. My blogger journey has helped me find the humor in life while making new friends along the way.
So, cheers to the next year - I look forward to another year of memories...Happy Birthday Parenting Tales!
