Time is a ticking

The one thing about toddlers...they have no concept of time. When you want them to hurry up, they can't. There little hands often cause them to fumble more, slowing them down more. Even when you walk, they are stepping twice as many steps as you and I.

I am guilty of rushing. Rushing in the morning to get to work, into day care, rush home, rush to bed -- RUSH RUSH RUSH! And I am naturally late, but now that I have a toddler, I am rushing to be later than late.

The funny thing is Jelly, who has no concept of time...had a lot to say about it.

"I don't like time!"

That is right, exactly what every toddler is thinking, er, screaming in their minds.

What do you do not to feel rushed?

I gave up!! Luckily work is flexible and everyone else laughs.
But if I HAVE to be on time... I add an hour to everything then I might make it!

Ha! Yes!

"...but now that I have a toddler, I am rushing to be later than late."

I have to wake up pretty early just to be late.

I do try to plan ahead as much as possible - have all sippies locked and loaded, diapers at the ready, all my prompts and pleads well practiced...

It doesn't matter. Toddlers are designed to make you slow down and smell the - well, smell whatever it is they just picked off the ground.

There is a reason why the little critters are so cute. We'd never put up with them otherwise. ;-)
