Gag me with a spoon -- no really!

Ok, so the Parent Bloggers Network is looking for America's worst cook...and while I may not be the worst cook, I have to say I rate up there pretty high. Yes, I know I gloated a little about my princess cake...but baking and cooking are seriously two different things.

Baking is, precise. Everything about baking needs to be exact...kind of like me, a control freak. Precise and voila a master piece!

On the other hand, cooking, not-so-precise. I often call my mom for a recipe and become overly frustrated, "Oh, I don't know, a little of this and a little of that." Really...it makes my head spin.

I used to watch the Food Network and they usually say "just a dab of this," or "that looks like a tablespoon." And nothing is precise...of course, this coming from a a girl who has burned tomato soup. Yes, that is right, I mastered burning soup.

I have also mastered burning popcorn, microwave popcorn...and we are not talking burnt, we are talking black-on-fire-popcorn.

Or maybe the time I cooked one of those frozen pizzas...and forgot to take the cardboard out from the bottom, yeah, that was one raw pizza.

So, in my household I think I have earned the award for worst cook...I have not only successfully destroyed food, but pre-prepared meals too! However, if you or someone you know has the worst cooking disaster story, be sure to post it on the America's Worst Cook site, and you could win a trip to NYC!

There is nothing better than sharing your cooking disasters and winning a prize! Good Luck!

Ha ha. My husband did the cardboard under the pizza bit too.

I'd much rather bake than cook too. I never thought of it as a control freak thing (cookbooks are good for exact measurements), but maybe it is?!?! I certainly qualify as someone prone to the control freak end of things, so I guess it wouldn't be surprising.
