A letter to my Papa

My Grandfather passed away this afternoon after a 5 month battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The cancer didn't actually kill him, it was a very common hospital infection called C-Diff. But he died peacefully, comfortably and surrounded by loved ones.

He will be greatly missed by many. Being in my early 30's I am very grateful to have known him and been able to share him with my daughter, which he absolutely adored her.

Dear Papa

Even though you are gone, our memories will live with me forever...

I will never forget...

When you played tea party with me and pretended to swallow my tea cup whole.
When you bought me that candy bar at the store when GrannyBob said no.
How you didn't laugh when I wore bright red lipstick on my face, not my lips.
When you called me and pretended to be Santa Claus.
When you won me my first car.
How you bragged about how proud you were of me to everyone you met.
How you always told me how my hubby and I were doing a great job raising our daughter.
How you loved and spoiled our daughter.
How you always made everyone laugh and smile.

Papa, you are a gem in my heart that will live on forever. Thank you for always believing in me.
I love you.
